I've just come back from a demo against the first BNP public rally in a London borough for many years. The BNP have 13 councillors in Barking and Dagenham and distributed over 5,000 leaflets about their rally of hate in Dagenham's Central Park. Unite Against Fascism, UNISON and other anti-fascist and trade union organisations mobilised and, despite the nazi's PR machine, had around four times as many protesters (200ish) as the nazi scum had supporters. We chanted over all their speakers - including the odious Richard Barnbrook, their Hilter-hairstyled leader in Barking and Dagenham - and caused them to all slope off quietly at the end. In fact there were more boys in blue than there were nazis! There was a great atmosphere amongst the anti-fascist contingent and even the heavy police presence couldn't put us off. My main point is this; It is tempting to be worried by these nazis violent reputation and intimidating tactics, but we need to remember that we are strong and there are very many more of us than them! Right I'm off to see if I'm on Redwatch yet! LOL!

Couldn't agree more IJ - haven't heard of a anti-racism rally here in Belfast for quite a while. People must unite to defeat the scum of the BNP as well as expose the blantant racism present in the media. It makes me sick to my stomach to think of the lies and bitterness and death these people instill in others.
