got the CD today. what can i say it,s superb. fav track well? UNIONIZE by negu gorriak [basque country] and in my humble opinion it,s better than the original. reached track seven when playing the cd and just stuck it on repeat[for over an hour] i dont know what it is about track 7!! but i could quite happily listen to that one track ALL night. well done BAZZA

I'm glad you like the Redskins tribute. Negu Gorriak's version of Unionize is great. You should try to track down a copy of their last album "Salam, Agur". This features covers versions by bands which influenced Negu Gorriak. As well as the Redskins cover the band also cover songs by The Clash, Public Enemy, Minor Threat, Bob Marley, The Who, Dead Kennedys, Ottis Redding & N.W.A. Negu Gorriak's singer Fermin Muguruza was supposed to be recording a cover of "Turnin' Loose" for the Redskins tribute but couldn't find the time as he was on tour. It was a shame as I'm sure he'd of done a great version of it.

I've never heard the term throat music before. But if you want to hear something a little different you should check out the Rock The Kasbah compilation which features bands from the East. You can pick the compilation up quite cheap from Amazon market place.

do a google search for tuvan throat music[tuvan is mongol for throat i think??] there are also free mp3,s and you can listen to it to see what you think. let me know what you think anyway. but rember it has a very distinctive style. also most songs tend to be about there horse or herd of horses etc.have a gander see what you think. in fact john peel used to play it on odd occasions on his shows. it,s not just mongolian but siberian and from norway etc. it is an unusuall style and reflects basically there nomadic way of life.

It's a shame that they split up earlier this year after 11 years together. They put out 3 great albums and I got to see the band live a few years ago in Oxford. They were a great soul band. I did hear that they had started to include a cover of the Redskins Keep On Keepin' On in their set but I've never heard it. I'll check out some of that music over the weekend.

That reminds me. Does anyone know where I might be able to pick up a copy of The InCiters last single "Goodbye"? As I've never been able to find a copy.

It's a split 7 inch single. You can hear the song on The InCiters website (on the index page)
