It appears that the CD that comes with this months Mojo magazine is to help promote the new photobook "Made In The UK: The Music Of Attitude, 1977-1983" by Janette Beckman. The book celebrates the music & attitude of punk, mod, skinhead, 2 Tone and the rockabilly cultures and features articles by Paolo Hewitt & Vivien Goldman.
Anyway, this is what October's Mojo magazine says about the Redskins track on the "Made In Britain" CD (see if you can spot the mistakes).
"Card-carrying members of the Socialist Workers Party and formed from the ashes of punk outfit No Swastikas, shaven-headed York four-piece The Redskins served up their resolutely political manifesto with a large dose of infectious, horn-heavy soul. The band's sole album, Neither Washington Nor moscow remains a fine testament to a band who offered an alternative to the right-wing tendencies so often associated with post-Southall riot skinheads."

The US is so behind the times, that issue of Mojo just came out a couple weeks ago. I bought it, but sadly it was a case of everything I liked on it, I already had. Still, I have a friend who's into The Headcoats/Billy Childish in general and scooters, so she dug the Pop Rivets's "Lambrettavespascoota".
cheers, scott

Still, I would have liked to have seen the Ramsey McKinnock Mix of Kick Over The Satutes on the disc rather than the album version as this is still unreleased on CD.
