Totally and absolutely agree. They will always be there but we have to fight them, especially now under Blairs mis - government.

Racism is seeping into every nook and cranny of society - agree - we have to fight it. It didn't surprise me they got off - sure it's a human right to be a racist.

As you know, the local elections are coming up and the Fash will be getting their act together around here. There are various early stage Searchlight,TUC,UAF etc leafletings being organised but experience has made me wonder if this approach does any good. A lot of the stuff we distribute, I think, over uses words like "Nazi" and "Fascist". In 2007 some ordinary folk don't take the former seriously and have no idea what the latter actually MEANS! If we have to mail anything we should use facts like the BNP's history of anti-working class party policies e.g. *paying scab miners to go back to work *slagging off the Firefighters srtike *Tony Lacomber's dodgy Eugenics "plans" for the Proletariat
etc. etc. etc.
What ever we do I hope, this time CERTAIN groups don't try taking over!

Local Elections on May 3rd. After all the analysis, it looks like the Fash failed to make any new ground: especially in their target regions like the Midlands and West Yorkshire. Maybe, just maybe, enough people got off their arses and purposely voted AGAINST 'em. After the Friday day-after count, their two worst local thugs/candidates/activists came causing bother in our Labour Club (normally full of Revolutionaries, Socialists, Anarchists and OLD Labour). Needless to say, they were out on their arses! Beaten twice in one day. Don't think for one minute I'm getting complacent, but I do draw a lot of optimism from the fact that, nationally, they only gained one council seat last week even if they DID come in second in a scary number of places. With Searchlight, UAF, TUC and individual trade union leaflets in abundance up to last Thursday: I think the message may just be getting through to the electorate. I've heard talk, before the locals, that Griffin and the rest of his Junta hierarchy have decared that if they do fail to make new political ground democratically new tatics would have to be adopted. Meaning a return to NF style marching and other, more "COMBATIVE" style street violence. The old-style street sales of Nazi News have already re-appeared. Time for Anti Fascists to "Put on their gloves and Boots, Have a smoke before they go. From the West there is, a warning of, A wind about to blow" GHOSTS OF CABLE STREET. The Men They Couldn't Hang
