After 11 years San Francisco band The InCiters are to call it a day. I'll put up the final tour dates when I get them.
This is what The InCiters website says about the split.
The InCiters are back again over europe - playing their fifth and final tour
It has been a hard 11 years keeping this band going. I'm telling you it has been my life (ask my wife). Yes, we all love it. Yes, we all are great friends. Yes, we will miss it. But we will still all hang out together as we are very close now. Why break up you ask. Well, we all have grown and have lives to try to keep up. We never have made enough money to live on playing music. We have always had a love for playing it, but you gotta keep working to pay the bills. Unfortunatley, this type of music has never been one to go to the top. It has been my passion to keep this band playing this music for a long time now. But everything must end. And we want to end on a good note! This tour is it.
To say hello and goodbye to our many friends in Europe as they have supported us the most. We will miss you. We have met some great people. The Germans have a great love for northern soul and our interpretation of it. Others have come along slowly, but the Germans accepted us first. I envy your fresh scene you have going on there. I think England has the rights to the original northern scene, but you will carry it on. Here in America, soul is taken for granted and is considered old hat by most except those in the northern/scooter/skin/mod scene. Not to say we haven't had our fun here at home, but the European tours have been fresh and exciting. Thank you to Ossi from Grover for making it possible. Along with others like Ralf in Hamburg, Joerg in Berlin.
The InCiters have been playing originals and northern soul covers for about 11 years now and it has been a great ride! We started in Santa Cruz, just a bunch of friends playing the music we love and I never would have thought I'd be doing it still in 2005. We have played with some legends singing with us on stage and played some awesome shows like the Isle Of Wight scooter rally and Sumer Safari in Germany along with some fantastic shows here in America. We've made some great friends along the way that would not have happened if not for this music. Strange to think about really
For this final tour we're back with almost all of the original European line-up. This almost did not happen until I pulled in the old members again for one last go. That being Kyle back in on drums. Scott carrying our bass lines. Sadly, JonSolo cannot make it, but we got "James the rock star" back on guitar - another former member. On vocals, Alana (my main girl/sister) is there. Our original girl with Brigid from the first CD, Brigid is coming on her first tour out with us, And the big news is Bill is back! On horns it will be myself as always on trumpet along with some scooter mates, Timmy on barisax (he actually bought Sam's sax off him) and Brandon on trombone. We the horn section are in a scooter club (Black Sheep Scooter Club) together along with Dion our manager which those of you that have been to shows have probably met.
I say that about the line-up being the European line-up because here at home we actually started with a different line-up than what was together for the first tour. Check out the first CD, "Movin' On". But, I must say that the line-up we have gone to Europe with has been the longest running and the best. We've had our turnovers with members. Some go and come back. We are all a big strange family now and we are sorry some can't make it.
So The InCiters are back for one more tour and we'd love to meet every single one of you somewhere outhere on the dancefloor for a big goodbye party!!!!!!!
Keep the Faith! or Spread the Faith!
