Working class is the group of people generally identified in Marxist theory as the proletariat. Although they are in a struggle for power with the bourgeoisie, the members of the working class must, nonetheless, sell their labour to the bourgeoisie to produce the material needs for their society (factory workers, builders, miners, etc.).
In England class is usually defined as being at least partly inherited, whereas Americans were more likely to emphasize current income and employment status.

then again we now have an underclass. these are the people and there children from the early eighties due to mass unemployment job losses etc eithier decided not to work or couldnt get a job. there children no doubt saw the plight of there parents and ended up in the same boat. hence all todays problems especially regarding drugs.[everybodys taking them it seems??]a mate of mine who,s a bit older than me who i used to go rabbiting, ferreting poaching, fishing etc with.[to me another working class preserve]said about our old local pub it was easier to get a line of coke than a diet coke???.never understood why people took drugs. granted if you have a problem it may ease the pain but the problems still there the day after.as for druggies especially smack heads i have a very low tolerence of them. in fact i wolud go as far and say i wolud shoot them along with the scumbags who deal it. am i harsh no i speak from experience with family and ex friends who turned to smack and seen that they become totally differant human beings.it,s the same with[so called]work mates who will see people lose there jobs and a week later be doing the overtime. i think we are our own worst enemy at times especially regarding this sore point for me .there aint much unity any more with even the unions [especially the railways] pulling in opposite directions.
