I recently got a copy of The Adjusters comp 'StormWarning: An Adjusters Anthology 1996-2001'. The band mixes ska, soul and funk with left wing politics and sound great. Anyway, in the sleeve notes it says that they opened their first gig with a Redskins cover. Does anyone know which song they used to cover? And did they ever record it?

Hi Bazza, as far as I know they didn't record a Redskins cover and I got almost everything of them(the 2 EPs and the 4 cds + samplers) . It's definetly a wonderful band (one of my favourite). As I'm in touch with the wife of a musician of the band, I'll ask her if she know which song it is and if they do record it I'll let you know.

Are The Adjusters still together then? As I did think that they had split up. But I did notice that an Adjusters MySpace page was set up just recently.

Unfortunately, they did split up a while ago. They're last recording is "Otis redding will save America". You can find Clay a dvd made by Laurel Parker (who happens to be the wife of Matt Parker, the organist of the Adjusters) on this site : www.mobleystreet.com/Clay (a romantic skamedy) is a short with the adjusters playing as actors and it has the video for "Our Town" as a bonus (also filmed by Laurel). Wonderful song, wonderful video. Laurel deserve a support

I got the following message today -
SO in answer to your question, we aren't really together now, though there are discussions about trying to do something together someday. Our organist lives in London now, and three of us are in california, one in New York and one in Chicago, so it's pretty rough...
Keep on keepin on!

I just got the answer, the song was "the power is yours", I've never seen this song anywhere. I would love to hear that... Thanks at the Parker family for the answer

I missed out on a chance to see the Adjusters live a few years ago. Damn show was sold out by the time I got there.

A classic band. Bazza, I've never heard of the release you mentioned. Where did you pick it up at? I'll try to do some digging, but I'm pretty sure I can find a picture of them playing at a RASH conference in Cincinnati bck in '96. Another good band to check out along the same line would be the Inciters.

Another good band to check out along the same line would be the Inciters. I love The InCiters! I met the band at a gig in Oxford a few years back. Shame they split up the other year but I have heard that Rick might be putting a new line up of the band back together. InCiters singer Alana Turner is also releasing solo records now. Her single 'Darling I Will Stay' on Axe records is well worth checking out.
