Went to see Billy Bragg tonight at the Harlow Playhouse but was disappointed. He spoke about the Clash but only mentioned the Redskins when I asked him a question. Just like his politics Billy was wishy washy but it was nice to see him again cos he's a nice bloke. He just doesn't want to change the world, especially not from his nice home in Dorset. So here we are in 2007 and what we really need are the Redskins for 2007!

Billy Bragg once covered the Redskins song 'Lean On me' at a gig he did with the band S*M*A*S*H. I'd love to hear this cover version but the only person I know with a copy is Billy himself. I did ask Billy Bragg if he would be interested in writing the sleeve notes for the Redskins tribute CD Reds Strike The Blues but his manager said that he was too busy at the time.

Yeah, I can imagine that cos it was his manager who was hurrying him away on Friday. I guess he's just become the middle aged tosser he used to 'protest' against. 'Hope I die before I get old'......... pity it don't happen to some folk, not cuddly owld Bill though eh.
