papers going out today. the engineering/groundstaff and train drivers balloted on industrial action. i will get hold of the RMT paper on the reasons for industrial action also the company must think they will lose the ballot as 200 mangers are being trained up for shunting/train prep duties. there are quite a few issues but i cant think of them all of the top of my head.but the vast majority of groundstaff/train prep are RMT so industrial action is looking highly likley.

Its been confirmed that engineering staff and groundstaff at EWS railways who belong to the RMT will go on strike. They will be for two 24 hour stopages the first this weekend and the second for the weekend after.the disruption will mainly effect engineering maintaince and trackwork especially in regard to weekend maintaince as the vast majority of EWS work load is for supplying materials on these days ballast/rail/and getting to and from weekend posessions will be extremely dificult in regards to train prepping brake tests inspections shunting etc.Network rail being the one of if not largest EWS customers.
